J. Jones

My name is J. Jones, I am 32 years of age and live locally in Cleveland. Over the past year I have undertaken IPL treatment on my face.

Growing up through my teenage years I had great skin, few pimples and no need to wear any kind of make up. By the time I hit my mid 20's I noticed a substantial change in my skin where I had permanent acne over my chin and dark pigment around my eyes. Year after year, the pigment was darker and the acne worse. Did I neglect my skin? Since I was 15 I have cleansed, toned and moisturised twice daily. Spending thousands on products and investing the time. As my skin deteriorated, the more stressed I became, being susceptible to eczema. I had dry itchy red skin over the pigment. By the time I reached my thirties, I was taking 30 minutes per morning, before I left my bedroom to cover my skin. The make up got heavier and heavier. I visited doctors, even being recommended to visit a plastic surgeon to have 'cists' cut out of my chin. Thank god I didn't proceed with the surgery with lasting skars alaong my jaw line.

I initially visited Mokaskin after reading an article about IPL hair removal. My initial consultation was for hair removal. Once I started talking to the nurse and she informed me of my options on my face, I thought 'what if it did work?' I sat opposite Jane with a huge amount of pigment around my eyes, like a soldier rubbing dirt to camouflage. I had redness from my eyes down to my décolletage. My chin, now that is another issue. It had scarring, lumps, craters and dark red permanent marks. When I first arrived at the clinic, it was the first time since my early 20's that I had left the house without makeup.

After the first session the amount of 'milo' was incredible. At first my thoughts were 'what have I done?' But as the milo disappeared clear milky skin was revealed underneath. I have had 9 sessions on my face and the results are extraordinary. I only wear concealer on a couple of spots (which we are working on) and lip balm. I have worn make up only for big nights out. I look in the mirror and love my skin and have had no pimples for three months. I have had no eczema since the commencement of the treatment.

I can tell you how great I think it is but the proof is from other people's comments. Remembering how my skin was, imagine these comments -

John Flinn
